7 Days in Seychelles
What can you do in Seychelles in 7 days? A week works best with one or two island bases. Mahé plus Praslin is the lower-stress choice; adding La Digue is possible if you are comfortable with more transfers.
Why 7 Days Works So Well
Seven days is long enough for a balanced first holiday, but not so long that you can move endlessly between islands. One well-planned change gives you variety without making the trip revolve around check-outs and ferries.
Option 1 — Mahé + Praslin
Spend the first three or four nights on Mahé, then move to Praslin for the remainder. This is the calmer option and leaves more time for beaches, nature, food and weather flexibility.
Option 2 — Mahé + Praslin + La Digue
If island variety matters more than a slower pace, spend roughly two to three nights on Mahé, two to three on Praslin and one or two on La Digue. Keep the schedule realistic and avoid placing a major activity immediately before a long connection.
Days 1–2 — Mahé
Settle in, discover beaches and scenery, explore Victoria and enjoy local cuisine. Leave some flexibility around your arrival day.
Days 3–4 — Praslin
Travel onward to Praslin and choose beaches, Vallée de Mai, an excursion or a combination that matches your interests. Protect enough time simply to enjoy the island.
Days 5–6 — La Digue or More Time on Praslin
With the three-island option, use this window for La Digue’s cycling and beaches. With the two-island option, keep the extra time on Praslin or return to Mahé according to your flights.
Day 7 — Return and Unwind
Keep the final day simple and allow generous time for your return connection to Mahé before an international flight. Do not build a tight chain of ferry connections around your departure.
Make Seven Days Work
Plan connections first
Check inter-island connections before locking in activities and accommodation.
Leave breathing room
Allow spare time around ferries, flights and weather-sensitive activities.
Choose your pace
Two islands suit a slower week; three islands suit travellers who prioritise variety.
