Festival Kreol returns for its 41st edition in October 2026, a month-long celebration of the language, music, dance, food, art and traditions that make Seychelles proudly Creole. This year it also coincides with the 50th anniversary of Seychelles’ Independence, and the theme is “Our Moments”.
What is Festival Kreol?
First held in 1985, Festival Kreol was the world’s first festival dedicated entirely to Creole heritage. It brings communities together on Mahé, Praslin and La Digue to celebrate a culture shaped by European, African and Asian roots, through music, dance, cuisine, crafts, fashion and storytelling.

On 30 October, Spektak 5 Kouler honours five Seychellois artists with more than 25 years in music. The festival closes on Saturday 31 October with a musical tribute to 12 late Seychellois artists and the traditional Bal Bobes Creole ball, which runs until 6am.
